Ace Cleaning Solutions is a professional exterior cleaning company built on trust, transparency and a genuine commitment to raising standards in its industry. Established in 2018 and based in Peterborough, the team offers a full range of exterior cleaning services including window cleaning, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, fascia and soffit cleaning, conservatory roof cleaning, cladding cleaning, render cleaning and softwashing.
The people behind the business, Dan and Jack, believe great customer service matters just as much as great results. Their values are simple and consistent: trust, professionalism, transparency and continuous improvement. Every customer receives a tailored visual quotation, clear communication and a team that turns up when it says it will. Their working roster already includes names such as Peterborough Cathedral, and their brand describes itself in three words: dependable, transparent and customer focused.

How the Project Came About
Ace Cleaning Solutions had grown into a company they were proud of, but their marketing did not yet reflect it.
The team had spent years reinvesting in better equipment, better systems and ongoing training, working with clients from homeowners to organisations such as Peterborough Cathedral, Yours Clothing and Persimmon Homes. What they did not have was a set of images that showed the people and the standards behind the name.
Their goal was clear. They wanted professional images they could put front and centre across their website, leaflets, welcome booklets and wider marketing. More than that, they wanted people to feel familiarity and trust when they saw them. As Dan put it, they did not want to look like just another faceless or AI covered company. They wanted their personality and their values to shine through, so that a prospective customer could look at the imagery and think, you know what, I like these guys.
That is a brief I always enjoy, because it is not about making the work look glossy. It is about making the people look real.

The Client Brief
Ace Cleaning Solutions needed a set of professional images that could carry their marketing and show the people behind the business. Specifically, they asked for
- Professional standard images for their website, leaflets, welcome booklets and wider media.
- Photography that made people feel familiarity and trust, rather than looking like a faceless company.
- Headshots and team shots that let their personality and values come through.
- Images of their equipment, their van and the team at work.
- One image above all that showed their professionalism while giving a glimpse of who they are behind the brush.
Beyond that, Dan gave me the freedom to shoot what I felt would work best, telling me they trusted my judgement. The real challenge was one of light and timing, capturing genuine, unposed work across a full day and multiple locations without ever interrupting the job. That is exactly the kind of brief that excites me.
As the Managing Director of Ace Cleaning Solutions here in Peterborough, finding the right person to capture our business was a big decision. Nate is actually one of our window cleaning customers, so we’ve known him for a while, dealt with him multiple times, and even seen him at expos. Having that existing relationship and seeing his work in action made us 100% certain he was the right person for the job. From start to finish, the entire experience was brilliant. Nate is insanely responsive and communicates every single step of the way. He is completely honest about expectations and even sent over some super helpful guides beforehand to make sure we were totally prepped for shoot day. I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous since I’d never done a commercial shoot like this before. But Nate went above and beyond to keep things fun, comfortable, and tailored to our needs. He also sent out a detailed questionnaire prior to the shoot to fully understand our vision, our business, and what we wanted to achieve. He didn't just match our vision, he delivered images in a style that fully represents who we are. On the day of the shoot, he arrived right on time. Our work required us to jump between three or four different locations, but Nate didn't bat an eye and rolled with the punches the entire time. He struck this awesome balance: when it came to team shots, equipment, and our van, he was wonderfully directive, positioning everything to get the absolute best angles. But for the rest of the shoot, he made sure we got a lot of candid, natural shots so we felt real and authentic. And MY GOD, the final photos... I am absolutely over the moon with them. Nate managed to find that sweet spot where things look completely natural while still making our brand pop. He delivered a fantastic mix of landscape and vertical shots, giving us exactly what we needed for every single scenario we planned for and then some! Even when he hit a slight hiccup with his editing software, he kept me in the loop the entire time and still managed to deliver everything right on schedule. The quality of his work completely exceeded my expectations. It’s easily been one of the best investments we've made for Ace Cleaning Solutions. We will definitely be using Nate’s services again in the future, and I couldn't recommend him more highly to any business looking to step up their commercial imagery.
The Creative Approach
One very hot day, two cleaners, and a city full of live jobs. This is how I approached it.
Shadowing Real Work Across Peterborough
We started at nine in the morning at the team’s first house of the day, capturing window cleaning and gutter cleaning as it happened. From there I followed them across the city to a block of flats and a run of smaller houses, then back across Peterborough to a very large detached property. That house was perfect for the wide, storytelling shots the brief called for, giving me the room to show the scale and quality of the work. It was also where Jack demonstrated the full range of what Ace offers, from solar panel cleaning to garage door cleaning.
My approach throughout was simple: shadow the team and let them work. Minimal direction, no staging, no posing. The goal was to let Dan and Jack do their job while I moved around them and captured the real moments. That is the only way to produce images that feel authentic rather than arranged, and authenticity was the entire point of this brief.
Working With The Light, Not Against It
I shot the whole day on natural light with no flash, following the shadows the day gave me. That day gave me plenty to work with. It was very hot, and bright, with the sun ducking in and out of cloud constantly. The shots that show perspective, the ones looking up at a property, were the most demanding to edit, because the light shifted so quickly and so harshly. My job was to work with those conditions rather than fight them, keeping every frame natural and true to the moment.
The Cathedral Outbuildings
The best part came last. We headed over to Peterborough Cathedral, one of Ace’s clients. We were not cleaning the cathedral itself, but I captured the team working on its historic outbuildings, a fitting setting that says a great deal about the calibre of client this business works with. The unique colours and stonework there made for a distinctive challenge in the edit, especially under that harsh, changeable light, but they gave the set an ending with real weight to it.
The Results
Ace Cleaning Solutions received 181 high resolution images ready to work across every part of their marketing. Headshots and team shots to put real faces to the name. Working lifestyle images that prove the quality of the service. Wide storytelling frames that show the scale of what they do.
For a business that has spent years quietly raising its standards, the imagery finally matches the ambition behind it. Where before there were no strong visual assets, there is now a complete library ready to lead the website, the leaflets, the welcome booklets and every future campaign. Most importantly, it does exactly what Dan asked for. It shows the people behind the brush and gives prospective customers a reason to trust them before they have even picked up the phone.
