About The Client
Littleworth Models began not as a business plan, but as a passion. For Daniel, model railways were never just toys — they were a way of connecting with engineering, history, and imagination all at once. What started as a personal love for collecting grew into something bigger: a business built on trust, honesty, and community.
Based in Lincolnshire, Littleworth Models has become a go-to for enthusiasts looking for second-hand collectable model railways, plastic kits, live steam, die-cast vehicles, aircraft and more. But it isn’t just about what’s on the shelves — it’s about the stories each piece carries. A vintage locomotive model isn’t just an object; it’s a link to someone’s childhood, a fragment of railway heritage, or the missing piece in a lifelong collection.
Daniel’s customers return not only because of the quality of his stock, but because of who he is. His knowledge, his integrity, and his genuine enthusiasm for the hobby mean people trust him. They know that when they walk through the door or scroll his listings, they’re dealing with someone who truly cares.
Littleworth Models is, at its heart, a reflection of Daniel himself: passionate, reliable, and fuelled by the joy of keeping railway heritage alive in miniature form.

The Client Brief
The goal was to create a set of personal branding images that showed Daniel not just as a seller of model trains, but as someone deeply connected to the railway world itself.
I set out to capture:
- Daniel working authentically in the steam cab, shovelling coal and tending the fire,
- Dramatic headshots with real steam engines,
- Portraits inside carriages and the signal box,
- Lifestyle moments that connect his passion for heritage railways with his model business,
- Wider atmosphere shots of the railway, the volunteers, and the movement of steam itself.

Absolutely fabulous photographer an absolute pleasure to deal with very accommodating always on hand to help thank you for a brilliant service.

The Creative Approach
Personal branding works best when it feels real. For Daniel, that meant placing him not in a studio or shop, but in the very world that inspired his business. That’s why we chose to shoot at Nene Valley Railway, a living heritage line filled with steam, smoke, and history.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was more than just a backdrop, it was home ground for his passion. The smell of coal, the low rumble of engines, the movement of volunteers keeping history alive, all of it became part of the visual story. My goal wasn’t simply to pose Daniel against a train, but to capture him immersed in the world that fuels Littleworth Models.
I followed him into the cab of a working steam locomotive, where he stoked the firebox, his face lit by the orange glow. On the platform, we created dramatic headshots framed by towering engines and clouds of steam. Inside the vintage carriages, I captured quieter, reflective moments, surrounded by the worn textures of wood and leather. Even the signal box, with its levers and dials, became a stage for portraits that tied his love of model railways to the full-scale reality.
Throughout the shoot, I leaned on natural light and atmosphere, letting steam, shadow, and detail create drama. Every frame was about bridging the miniature with the monumental, showing not just what Daniel sells, but why he sells it. This wasn’t a day of product photography. It was a day of storytelling, heritage, and heart.

A Personal Note from Nate
Because sometimes the best way to tell your story is to step right into the world that inspires you.
Every business has roots
For Daniel, it’s not just about models, it’s about the love of heritage, engineering, and the steam railway community that shaped his passion.
Immersion makes the difference
By photographing him in a living museum, we didn’t just capture his brand, we placed it in context, turning a small business into part of a bigger story.
Where it’s going
These images are the start of a new chapter for Littleworth Models, showing customers the heart, the scale, and the passion behind the name
