Visibility for exhibitors and partners
Real connection, not staged moments
The Client Brief
The Local View wanted event photography that documented the expo as a genuine celebration of local enterprise, while also producing a practical image library for marketing, PR, and future events.
This meant covering the event from multiple angles across the full programme at Kingsgate, from 10am to 2pm. The brief included scene setting images that show the venue, signage, and footfall, as well as a strong focus on the people and the outcomes, including exhibitors meeting visitors, businesses networking, and the atmosphere that makes the expo feel busy and valuable.
A key part of the brief was to capture the speaker content properly. The event opened with a welcome from Kev Lawrence and the PCR FM 103.2 team, followed by two keynote sessions. Sukhi Wahiwala presented “Say Bye Bye to Procrastination”, and entrepreneur Mike Greene delivered “Business Adapt or Die”, sharing insights on resilience, adaptability, and the need for businesses to embrace change. These images needed to be strong enough for speaker promotion and clear enough for professional press use.
The organisers also highlighted the value of exhibitors and visitor experience. Visitors were there to discover new services, forge collaborations, and strengthen local networks, so the photography needed to show real conversations and real engagement, not just posed stand photos.

The Creative Approach
For a business expo, the best photography is documentary in feel, but commercial in outcome.
- My approach was:
• Start with clean venue and branding images before the busiest footfall.
• Capture the day in layers: wide shots for scale, mid shots for context, close shots for emotion and detail.
• Photograph keynotes with a mix of stage, audience, and reaction images.
• Build mini stories for exhibitors: the stand, the team, the service or product, and real conversations.

A Personal Note from Nate
There is a reason I enjoy photographing business expos like this. They are not just about stands and speakers. They are about people showing up, being seen, and leaving with new ideas and new connections. That is exactly what The Local View Business Expo created at Kingsgate in Peterborough.
The power of local connection
When you put local businesses in the same room, the energy shifts. Conversations start quickly, confidence grows, and people realise there is a real community around them.
The moments that matter most
The keynotes are a big part of the story, but the value often shows itself in the details. People listening closely, making notes, smiling at a point that lands, and continuing the conversation afterwards.
Photos that keep working after the event
A strong event gallery should not only recap the day. It should support the next stage. It helps exhibitors show their presence, it gives organisers content for websites and social media, and it provides images suitable for press coverage. It also builds momentum for the next expo, because people can see the atmosphere, the professionalism, and the community for themselves.
