I’m Nate Lansdell, a commercial photographer based in Peterborough and a professional member of the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP). What exactly is a “headshot” session?
A headshot focuses on you from the shoulders up, usually three-quarter, half, or shoulder-length framing. These images are designed to show confidence, warmth, and professionalism. They are ideal for websites, LinkedIn, company profiles, and marketing materials. My goal is to ensure every headshot looks approachable and authentic, whether it is for a CEO, a freelancer, or an entire team.
Should my headshot be formal or informal?
That depends on how you wish to represent yourself or your business. For corporate teams, I usually create a clean, professional style that feels formal yet friendly.

Im a solo entrepreneur, I want a full body photo and marketing?
If you are a solo business owner, freelancer, or creative professional, I highly recommend a personal branding session. Unlike a standard headshot session, this explores your story and brand in more depth.
We will capture a mix of portraits, working shots, and lifestyle images that reflect your personality and the essence of your business. It is flexible and expressive, ideal for websites, social media, and marketing campaigns.
I really don't like my photo taken/ Members of my team don't like there photos taken?
Yes, absolutely. You are in the right place. Many of my clients begin by saying the same thing and always leave surprised by how enjoyable the experience is.
I will guide you through posing and expression, and make the session feel more like a relaxed conversation than a photoshoot. My aim is to help you feel comfortable and confident, which always shows in the final images.
Do you offer retouching and editing?
Yes! All final images go through a professional editing process, which includes:
Colour correction & exposure balancing
This is considered basic editing and is included in your package. However, any complex edits, such as heavy skin retouching, advanced compositing, or significant changes to the background, are chargeable and outsourced to trusted professionals who specialise in these areas.
